Reflections

Reflections on spirituality.

Sister Phyllis Fuselier, MSC, composed the following poem after attending a spiritual retreat where Wisdom was the theme:

Seeking Wisdom

If truth be told and wisdom found,
look to those whose smile is up – not down.
See yourself as unfinished – yearning to be whole
Hear wisdom in others’ words –
even when they are cold.
Feel each blade of grass – gift of God
between your toes,
Touch the dirt – home of worms and pebbles and woes,
Taste the rain-sky water runneth down peacock’s tail,
Catch the rain – no need for bucket or pail,
Collect sky water in your hair,
eyelashes, pockets and hands,
Smell the wind – scent of roses,
seas, pine and sand.
Sense the relief of love spoken,
given, received, and softly
placed by wisdom into your senses.

On October 17, 2010, St. Br. Andre Bessette, C.S.C. (1845-1937) became the first saint of our Holy Cross Family when Pope Benedict XVI canonized him in St. Peter’s Square.
